The moment you enter the grounds you instantly feel the grandeur and charm of the property. A sweeping driveway flanked by stately stone pillars, each crowned with a lion statue, sets the tone for the regal character that defines this property. The lion motif carries throughout the house & grounds as a cohesive architectural signature. The exterior is a masterpiece of natural stone craftsmanship, crowned by an original slate roof and wrap-around front porch. Statues, walking paths, and multiple water features are woven throughout the landscape, all elements of a design vision conceived with the assistance of the Olmsted Brothers, the illustrious and world-renowned architects of New York City’s Central Park. Breathtaking waterfalls, hand-laid retaining walls, gazebos, and gardens still grace the grounds as a testament to their enduring artistry. Inside, the home is nothing short of extraordinary. Intricate hand-laid mosaics, sweeping marble floors, and rich hardwood flooring, installed with the precision of true master craftsmen speak to the uncompromising quality of the original construction. Over a dozen bedrooms, 7.5 baths, and an entertainment hall complete with a rich wood crafted bar and glass atrium along with an indoor pool provides endless possibilities. The 14 fireplaces anchor the grand interior spaces, while walls dressed in wood paneling imported from the Baxter church in England have been carefully preserved, offering a warmth and authenticity that simply cannot be replicated. This estate is the crown jewel of Briarcliff Manor, built without compromise and designed to endure. The property creates the opportunity to restore the rich architecture and history and elevate it to the 21st century. A purchaser with a vision will create a space that will respect its history, bring it into the modern era and allow future generations to experience and enjoy. The asking price recognizes the cost of this undertaking (over $1.5m+ in renovations) and presents the opportunity to enhance the value of the estate and also own something that is truly priceless.
